Lewis offers bachelor's degrees in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Chemical Physics. We also offer thesis-based terminal Master's degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Physics. In an effort to encourage students to pursue graduate studies, we offer a 4+1 fast-track program which allows students to complete both degrees in 5 years. We have research-active faculty studying diverse areas ranging from chemical education to materials science. To encourage student involvement and participation in research, I have chaired the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE Program) where for one summer out of the college career, students can apply to have a paid research experience working alongside many of our faculty university-wide in many fields and later present their findings at the end of summer symposium.
